One of the more challenging times of raising a child is dealing with bedtime. If your child doesn’t sleep soundly, neither will you. The trick to providing a happier bedtime experience is simple, have a routine. Having a planned method every night helps your child feel secure and comforted in his bedroom environment. Some children love going through his step by step ritual before going to bed.
1. Family Dinner.
Make sure your child has family time where they have scheduled time together. The dinner should be scheduled, healthy and filling and not to late at night. or starters, researchers found that for young children, dinnertime conversation boosts vocabulary even more than being read aloud to. The researchers counted the number of rare words – those not found on a list of 3,000 most common words – that the families used during dinner conversation. Young kids learned 1,000 rare words at the dinner table, compared to only 143 from parents reading storybooks aloud. Kids who have a large vocabulary read earlier and more easily.
Children are more spiritually connected than adults because they haven’t accumulated the years of layering, limiting beliefs and ego domination like adults. With continued practice and repetition, it’s easier for children to shut down their ego and get into the meditation zone since they are still so connected to their inner voice. Why teach your child to meditate. Simple meditation is a great to ensure your child doesn’t have anger or anxiety issues.
3. Talk quietly.
Try to connect with your child by talking about how his/her day was, or you can try and engage in some creative thinking. You can let the child decide and pick what to dream about over the night.
4. Moral Bedtime Stories
A moral story that praises a character’s honesty is more effective at getting young children to tell the truth than a story that emphasizes the negative repercussions of lying, according to research published in Psychological Science, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science. Children can either read to you, siblings, or someone themselves. Reading to your child will also help improve their communication skills without them even really knowing it.
This helps the child to relax by having their muscles being tightened and released by starting from the feet and then moving up the body. Yoga is an especially great choice. By practicing yoga poses, children can learn how to exercise, develop confidence, and concentrate better. But, any exercise that includes breathing including dance, an active game like laser tag ect can be beneficial to children before bed and preferably before bathtime.
6. Journaling before bed.
Encouraging your child to have a positive thought before sleeping can help them have a better night. For years, research has shown that journal writing is therapeutic, can help people children on their thoughts, and also deal with their emotions. One best way to help them achieve this is by encouraging them to write a journal that focuses more on positive events. A place where they don’t have to worry about their spelling and grammar, and be accepted as a writer without criticism.
As important as it is for parents to encourage, love and support their children, it is just as important that children learn to create this within themselves. It is very empowering for a child to create positive beliefs in themselves so it is much harder for people to tear them down. It is crucial to choose an affirmation that suits your child correctly.
8. Bedtime yoga.
You can let your child try child’s Yoga. It is one of the best yoga postures that is good for calming, quieting, and restoring. These are among the best qualities for mind and body preparation before you go to sleep. Choose those child-friendly poses to help your child prepare for sleep. Despite the controversy, yoga is beneficial to kids in many ways. Because children encounter emotional, social, and physical challenges or conflicts, a dedicated and intentional yoga practice that includes breathing techniques, behavioral guidelines, and physical postures can be incredibly valuable for them. Yoga is something children can practice anywhere and that the breathing, the concentration, the poses, and the way kids learn to act or react to situations, will lead to constant self-discovery and inquisitiveness.
9. Impacting Knowledge.
Reading some interesting books for your child is another crucial way to make the fall asleep quickly. Avoid reading one story several times instead find words of wisdom and knowledge. For kids keep it short and simple and ensure that the words of wisdom have an impact and is relatable to the child. When a child is young you can use esop stories as they get older you can include memorization of poems, short stories or quotes.
Last but not least, prayers can be another important thing to add. This can be a simple word of thanksgiving or just a formal religious prayer. It can be a prayer that you have written based on the family needs. The main points to take away are get a routine that suits you, stick to it for your baby’s sake, keep everything as relaxed as possible and then enjoy your adult time while your baby is fast asleep snug and warm in his or her bed.

Children thrive with a routine and a consistent bedtime. New research suggests that the consistency of childrens’ bedtimes, and not just the number of hours of sleep, is critical for developing brains. In a recent study, children with non-regular bedtimes had more behavioral problems. For children who changed from non-regular to regular bedtimes, behavior significantly improved
